Honolulu hotels

Stephanie has been in contact with the managers of the two hotels that she highly recommends. They will offer booking codes for rooms of 10+ so I wanted to try and get an idea of who is interested in staying in any of these hotels and if we should get a lineup of rooms reserved. .

Here's the scoop:

Hotel Renew: A boutique hotel known for their high end customer service just half of a block away from the beach. All about the details - this hotel leaves a personal welcome note in each room, water, robes, drink coupons, slippers and maybe some compd parking. Rates are $140 - $200 dependent up view.

Waikiki Parc: A bit larger than hotel renew. WP offers a rooftop pool and is 100 feet to the sand. Rates are $159 partial oceanview, $179 full oceanview.

Bamboo Hotel & Spa: One and a half blocks away from the beach this recently renovated boutique hotel offers a saltwater pool as well as a spa. I was also intrigued with the kitchenette and full kitchen room options for those guests that are interested in preparing their own meals rather than eating out. I will need to double check with managment, however when I looked last month rates were $125/night for a studio with kitchinette and $225 for a 1 bedroom suite with kitcen

**Keep in mind that parking is very expensive in Honolulu with limited parking space, roughly $25/day

Hawaiian Airlines baggage changes

I found out today that Hawaiian Airlines has changed baggage options for affiliate members due to the economy. Their baggage policy fees are noted when you sign into the Affiliate Member link located in one of the initial blogs. They're still offering a 5% discount off of the lowest rate, however baggage will no longer be complimentary. If you decide to utilize the online baggage fee purchase, prior to arriving at the airport, you will receive a $5 discount each way.
